IRPF rotational member position – Call for interest

Following the review of the Irish Retail Payments Forum (IRPF) in 2022, the Central Bank of Ireland introduced rotational member positions for individual payment service providers to participate in the IRPF. Rotational members are appointed for a period of twenty-four months, with the term for the current rotational members coming to an end in December 2024.

The Central Bank is issuing a call for interest for new rotational members. Four rotational members will be appointed: two credit institutions, and two non-banks payment service providers (i.e. electronic money institutions and payment institutions). The term of membership will cover IRPF meetings in 2025 and 2026. The IRPF meets every six months, with additional ad-hoc general meetings and working groups convened as required.

For institutions that are members of Banking and Payments Federation Ireland, Fintech and Payments Association of Ireland, and Electronic Money Association, please liaise with your representative body if you are interested in submitting an application.

If your institution is not a member of a representative body mentioned above, and you wish to be considered, please send an email to [email protected] stating the name of your institution, relevant details associated with your business model and your rationale for joining the IRPF. The application process will close on 6 November 2024.
