Eurosystem Collateral Framework
In accordance with Article 18.1 of the Statute of the ESCB and of the ECB) Eurosystem liquidity-providing operations must be based on adequate collateral.
The single framework for eligible assets
The single framework, also referred to as the Single List, comprises marketable and non-marketable assets. As a rule, no distinction is made between marketable and non-marketable assets with regard to their quality and their eligibility for individual Eurosystem credit operations. However, non-marketable assets are not used by the Eurosystem for outright transactions.
Eligible marketable assets
Eligible marketable assets are assessed for eligibility as collateral according to criteria specified in the Eurosystem legal framework for monetary policy instruments.
Marketable assets are considered eligible for use as collateral in Eurosystem credit operations when their inclusion in the list of eligible assets has been published by the ECB.
Where can I find the list of eligible marketable assets?
Marketable assets are listed on the eligible assets database, published by the ECB and updated on a daily basis.
The updated list is made public each day at 18:15 hours CET.
What marketable assets do the Central Bank assess?
The Central Bank of Ireland is responsible for assessing marketable debt securities admitted to trading on the Irish Stock Exchange.
