BIS Triennial Derivatives Survey
The 12th Triennial Central Bank Survey of foreign exchange and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives markets took place in 2019. This Global survey is coordinated by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and is composed of two parts. The first part conducted in April measures the daily volume of foreign exchange and OTC interest-rate derivatives transactions that banks carry out on their own behalf or through their customers’ accounts throughout the month. The second part of the Survey is carried out in June and measures the outstanding notional amounts and gross market values of foreign exchange, interest rate, equity, commodity, credit and other OTC derivatives contracts.
The Global turnover results are published on the BIS website. The results for Ireland are published below.
